New to Guild Wars!
Hey everyone, I'm new to Guild Wars and I have just a few questions that I can't find the answers to. But first, an introduction. My name is Kevin and I am attending my Junior year in high school. I like to play basketball, listen to music like punk rock and modern alt/punk/metal "rock," hang out, and play video games (of course xD). For the last 4 years I have been involved in gaming with various Ragnarok Online private servers.
1. Do I need to complete the PvE part of the game to obtain the best gears for PvP like Primevil armor? 2. If I choose to be a Warrior/Dervish for PvE, will I be able to play a Warrior/Anything but Dervish for PvP? If so, will I have access to all the possible skills or will I have to complete the PvE portion of the game as a Warrior/Anything but Dervish again? 3. If any of you are former RO players, can you help compare and contrast general characters roles from GW to character roles from RO? RO - GW Lord Knight - Warrior/Dervish? Paladin - Warrior/Elementalist? High Priest - Monk Champion - ? High Wizard - Elementalist Professor - Elementalist/Mesmer? Assassin Cross - Primary and Secondary Attributes of Warrior + Assassin, on crack? Rogue - ? Hunter - Ranger Clown - Mesmer/Ranger? Gypsy - Ranger/Mesmer? Whitesmith - ? Creator - Ranger/Elementalist, on crack? 4. What are the key class combinations and their roles for PvP in guild wars? Or is it not like that, and basically all classes have a balanced opportunity at dealing damage/hexing/buffing/tanking etc? Nice to meet you all! |

hi, i could help ya, but, the worst thing you could do is comparing one game to another game, there is no such thing as pvp dominator on guild wars, nor comparisons between ragnarok classes and guild wars,
dont think so, but to get the best PVP armor, you gotta play hero battle tournament, and then unlock ALL the other armors, before unlocking primeval, standard fancy ones and so on you can play any proffesion with any combination of a secondary proffesion, even if your pve one is a warrior/dervish, you can still do warrior/dervish for pvp, and you can start from the bottom, doing low pvp, getting bath faction and unlocking every skilll in game, including elites, even without touching PVE gameplay. And not all the proffesion got hexes, not all buffs, and certainly not all the proffesions can tank as effective as others, but one thing is true, every proffesion can deal heavy damage spikes as well as AOE damages. cheers, have fun in game =) |
